About Rodney
Rodney Lake is an experienced U.S. tax attorney whose practice centers on identifying, assessing, and managing tax risk, and on designing and implementing tax-efficient structures for companies, investors, and founders. As Of Counsel at Concepcion Global PLLC, Rodney works alongside the firm’s international tax team to advise clients on both domestic and cross-border tax planning, bringing a transactional tax background that complements the firm’s focus on inbound and outbound international tax matters.
Rodney’s practice spans domestic restructurings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, financings, and corporate reorganizations, as well as individual, estate, and trust tax planning. He regularly advises on the tax implications of complex transactional structures, working through corporate, partnership, and individual tax issues across multiples jurisdictions. His practice also includes representing taxpayers in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Tax Court.
Before joining Concepcion Global, Rodney practices tax law in New England, eventually becoming a partner and co-chair of the tax practice group at one of the region’s largest law firms. His work there centered on transactional tax matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, financings, and corporate reorganizations, as well as individual, estate, and trust tax law matters.
Rodney also advised private equity and corporate clients on tax matters as part of a Big Four accounting firm’s International Tax and Transactions Service practice, where he led teams on complex cross-border M&A transactions. His work included tax structuring, due diligence, and risk quantification across international, U.S. federal, and state tax dimensions, as well as representing clients in connection with tax insurance underwriting processes.
Rodney graduated from Tufts University in 2003 and received his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 2008. He later earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2015.
